Terminology
Dealer, agent, ID maker, provider: is there a difference?
In Pakistan these words are used interchangeably. Technically a dealer holds a panel (Master or above) on the exchange. An agent or ID maker may be a sub-dealer or just a middleman forwarding your details to a real panel holder and taking a cut. The risk with middlemen is that your money passes through an extra pair of hands and your withdrawal depends on two people instead of one. Ask directly: “Do you hold the panel or do you forward to someone?” A dealer answers in one word.
